Lakshmi Baramma is a story of an orphan and innocent village girl called Lakshmi who was raised by her grandmother. Under some strange conditions, she marries Chandan. Soon she realizes that Chandan is already in love with his cousin Shruthi. Not to be an obstacle in Chandan's life, she ran away from him. But soon she is brought to the home by Shruthi, who doesn't know the real truth about Lakshmi. In the course of time, Chandan's mother and a few others in the house learn about this truth. In the meantime, Kumada with his lover Manoj, hatch continuous plans to engulf the whole property of the family. Kumuda knowing the truth about Lakshmi plays a mind game with her. Afterward, Chandan and Lakshmi tie the knot. And Kumada's treachery was exposed by Shruthi's father Kailash. Soon after Shruthi gets pregnant and her child is presumed to be dead due to some mishaps. Lakshmi gets pregnant by surrogacy and delivers baby Adhya and the missing child of Shruthi was also found. As all seemed to be going well, another character named Aniruddh enters the house and gains their trust and kidnaps Shruthi.
